Homemade Chili Garlic Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 10-12 fresh red chili peppers (e.g., Thai bird’s eye chilis or any chili of your choice)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil for more flavor)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar)
  • 1-2 tbsp soy sauce (adjust for saltiness)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground white pepper (optional, for added spice)
  • 1/4 cup water (optional, to adjust consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the ingredients:
    • Remove the stems from the chilis and chop them into smaller pieces. You can remove the seeds if you want less heat, or leave them for a spicier sauce.
    • Peel the garlic cloves.
  2. Blend the chili and garlic:
    • In a blender or food processor, combine the chopped chilis and garlic. Blend until you get a smooth paste. If needed, add a little water to help blend the ingredients.
